Nevermind, I already understood, how it goes, when the players really don't have interest. Now I hope, the player below this post won't have any negative comments to this again. This variation makes the total price of 45 packs, so its cheaper to make it more balanced, I'd like to have Crobat Prime or Ursaring Prime, but I think, no many players have them, so if you add some BW-Noble Victories commons/uncommons, it'd be welcome. This variation makes price exactly 50 packs (maybe 49,5 or so…)Ģ× Starmie (Next Destinies) ģ× Dratini (Plasma Freeze) ģ× Dragonair (Plasma Freeze) Ģ× Genesect (Legendary Treasures)

(I mention the price by Top Cut in )Ģ× Full Heal (Black & White) Ģ× Tranquill (Emerging Powers) Ģ× Unfezant (Emerging Powers) Ģ× Gigalith (Noble Victories) ġ× Excadrill (Dark Explorers Dig Uppercut one #56) I compared prices according to Top Cut, so both variations have +/- the same value (not exactly!) I thought about 2 variations what cards I'd like to have. Now, when the Top Cut corporation was updated, Beach's cost is about 50 packs. Its price continuously grows and goes down, I searched through this forum in a few threads and almost everyone, who offers it, want another price, so its not so easy to make the “correct” price.Īfter some arguments (see below) I've decided to get cards for it. which is startlingly high for something that had theoretically 15,000 copies online.I have something for you - a card named TROPICAL BEACH. the selling price for beaches 2 months after it's release online back in 2013 was 25ish packs. right after it's release online, people were selling the online codes via the secondary market so this confirms some people didn't redeem the codes but tried to sell irl.Ģ. this happened all the time for hgss era stuff before legacy so old beaches are constantly returning to the game, and are also constantly leaving as people leave.ġ. but a significant chunk of beaches could still be in the binders of players who simply stopped playing and could one day return.

if you want to be conservative and say maybe 15% of the players back then still play today, then that would leave 2250 beaches left in the game, assuming all the codes were redeemed (which they weren't). and rich players from that era likely stocked on tropical beach given their rarity and the fact that it was played in practically every competitive deck back then.ĥ. sometimes a rich player can be banned or quit and their entire binder goes with them. also a ton of players have been banned since then as well. 2013 was 3 years ago, and a ton of players have moved on from the game in this time. if it's correct that 2011 codes were given only to 2011 members, and the fact that 2011 likely had less attendees than 2012 (since PTCG has been growing bigger every year), added to the fact that 2 years had passed since 2011 (vs ) meaning not every competitor or staff continued to play the game, it confirms that there are less 2011 than 2012 in the game, hence the price difference.Ĥ. Mike said he tried to track down every eligible member but it's possible he didn't get everyone.ģ. this means if any 2011 participant or staff did not play PTCGO anymore, their codes would be lost.

if you participated in 2011 worlds, you got a 2011 code but none other. this means a full year had passed since the end of 2012 worlds (and 2 years for end of 2011 worlds) when the online codes were given out.Ģ. the online codes were released in 2013, while tropical beach was given out in 20 worlds.

I did some research on this a couple of months ago and Mike Liesik, who was the PTCGO community manager back then, confirmed that 15,440 tropical beach were theoretically available given the amount of codes that they created back then.
